Welcome to The Talk Spot
The Talk Spot offers talking tips and speech-language strategies for babies, toddlers, and school-aged children, with an emphasis on parent-coaching and empowerment. My team and I are proud supporters of play-based learning and passionate advocates for children of all abilities.
With over 10 years’ experience working with children, I have a knack for disguising therapy as play and our whole team uses this foundational approach. At The Talk Spot, we strive to make speech and language knowledge accessible to families and believe everyone should be able to access therapy conveniently.
We absolutely LOVE what we do and are devoted to serve our clients with integrity and enthusiasm.
The most rewarding aspect of our job is when children feel proud of their communication accomplishments and a family grows confidence in helping their child. Your goals are important to us!
We will work collaboratively to come up with a treatment plan that is tailored to you.
Thanks for being here, we can’t wait to work with you!

What’s your speech therapy philosophy?
Illuminate the path to communication by letting your child be the way-finder!
How did you know you were in the right profession?
Once during a session, I made up a song about our play activity. To my surprise, each parent felt compelled to join in with an impromptu verse - it was like we were The Wiggles! Seeing everyone so engaged and having fun together reminded me of how blessed I am to work in the field of speech therapy.
Karolina Donnelly
Speech-Language Pathologist
Offering: In-home services in Calgary
Service Languages: English & Polish
Hello! My name is Karolina and I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP) with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Minot State University.
Born in Poland and raised in Calgary, I had the opportunity to appreciate language from an early age learning both Polish and English. I continued to grow a passion in communication learning and appreciating all modalities of communication, such as, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), visuals, gestures, sign language, body language, verbal expression, writing, texting, etc. Working collaboratively with families and sharing strategies to help their communication goals drives my determination to support kiddos and their families.
I look forward to meeting, connecting, and supporting families in Alberta!
What’s your speech therapy catchphrase?
Be the schwa (unstressed).
What’s your favourite childhood memory?
One of my favourite childhood memories is attending a ski training camp with my family where we and other families would hike up Parker Ridge Trail and ski down. Our dog, at the time, would enjoy running up the trail with us and chasing us while we skied. It was so fun spending time with my family and friends in the beautiful weather while skiing.

After graduating from the Developmental Services Worker program at Algonquin College, I gained experience in schools, clinical settings, and residential environments with clients of various ages and backgrounds. I am excited to bring my person-centred approach and play-based therapy to your family.
A bientôt!
What inspired you to work in the field of speech therapy?
My inspiration to work in the field of speech therapy comes from my ongoing involvement in the disability community. Over the years, I've seen firsthand how crucial communication is in fostering social relationships, ensuring that individuals can effectively express their needs as well as advocate for themselves. I believe that all forms of communication, including augmentative methods, are vital in empowering individuals to build connections and fully participate in their communities.
What hobbies or activities do you enjoy outside of work?
I’m a big sports gal who practically grew up in an arena! Hockey, snowboarding, and golf are my top favourites. I’ve had the privilege of being involved in a variety of different sports growing up and continue to explore new activities in my free time. When I’m not out and about, I also enjoy baking, doing little crafts and hanging out with my dog.
Megan Taylor
SLP-A & Administrator
Contact: hello@thetalkspot.ca
Hi, my name is Megan.
Blessed with nearly two years of mentorship by Speech-Language Pathologist Felicity Lof and hands-on experience as a student aide, I’ve stepped into the role of a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A). This role feels like such a natural fit—I’m fully present during each session, and I leave uplifted after seeing children make progress with their communication.
My journey with kids began much earlier. Growing up in my mom’s dayhome, I spent my days in imaginative play, putting on performances, and helping younger children feel safe and included. Those early experiences showed me how powerful play can be for learning, and they continue to shape the way I foster communication today.
I’m especially drawn to supporting children in language and social communication, while continuing to grow my skills in articulation. Honoring each child’s unique communication style and helping them build meaningful connections is what makes this work so rewarding for me.
In addition to my SLP-A role, I also contribute to The Talk Spot through administrative work. I find this equally meaningful, as it allows me to connect families with clinicians and help ensure more children receive the resources they need.
Outside of work, I love mentoring youth, hiking, reading, and journaling. I’m grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside families and look forward to celebrating every child’s progress in their speech and language journey.
